Wendy Nelson white and black leather jacket, 1980s

This leather jacket was made by Wendy Nelson, and features a black contrast yoke with a wingtip-inspired pointed shape on the centre back, which is hand pinked, accompanied by small holes punched all along the edges, much like the broguing detail found on a two-tone pair of shoes. The oversized bomber style is accentuated by the close fit at the hip, and is fastened with domes and a concealed front placket. The jacket is lined with a black and white gingham cotton.

The NZFM photographed this jacket at our Popup photography session in October 2024 which was part of our Hui Auaha o Aotearoa Open Day.
