Wendy Nelson Night Out mini halter dress, 1987
This daring black mini-dress features a cupped bodice with a midriff cutout, and halter neck. Wendy Nelson hand beaded the bust herself with black jet beads, and wore this dress as a favourite to party in back in the 1980s. The fabric is a double-knit ponte which allows for a tight and smooth fit without compromising movement, an essential feature of a great dancing dress!
The NZFM photographed this dress at our Popup photography session in October 2024 which was part of our Hui Auaha o Aotearoa Open Day.
