Strapless silk chiffon cocktail dress

The cornflower blue silk over lavender lining creates a shot effect. This garment has a small silver and black El Jay reg. label with silver tips. Much of the garment manufacturing involved hand sewing; hooks and eyes, hems and in this example the ruching on the bodice were all done by hand. As an apprentice in the ragtrade this is where you started - on the hand-finishing table.
