Silver lurex long dress

Deborah Wilson says that for her the 1970s were a fabulous time in fashion and life itself. She has kept several pieces but this one is her favourite. It was acquired in the very early 1970s from Farrys in Dunedin. Deborah had done some modelling and promotional work for this store who gave her this dress instead of wages. It is a classic dress by established manufacturing label Society and was made in New Zealand, as almost everything in the shops was at the time. The dress has certainly earned its keep – it has been worn to medical and dental school balls, Air force Balls and an occasion with the governor general of the time.
