Silver silk charmeuse wedding dress
Karen White bought this Liz Mitchell dress for her first wedding in January 1997. "I had received a bonus from work and decided to use it on a dress. I saw a picture in a magazine of the dress with additional lace detail in the front panel of the bodice. I made an appointment for a fitting - it was the first time I had a dress custom-made and fitted for me." Karen matched the dress with a bronze bridesmaid's dress and the men wore silver and bronze waistcoats. She recalls it cost about $2000. "Extravagant! But the dress has lasted much longer than the marriage. It's been worn by me and my friends as a ball dress and I've even worn it as a Weeping Angel costume (Dr Who)."
