Metallic cocktail dress with draped collar
Taumarunui designer Michael Mattar was known for his classically elegant dresses with a touch of Hollywood glamour. Two of his designs - a 1961 silk cocktail number and a 1969 silk crepe and lace cocktail mini-dress - were included in the Auckland Museum exhibition of cocktail dresses, After Six Before Eight, in 2003.
