Iridescent pink print evening dress

This dress was made in 1969 by Colin Cole for Lyndy for The Four Schools Ball – a ball for past pupils of Christ’s College, Wanganui Collegiate School, Woodford House and Nga Tawa Diocesan School. At this time, Colin extended his offering to include off-the-peg garments in response to the changing demographic. This garment has a conventional woven label, which he began to use instead of his signature hand sewn labels as production increased. Read more about 1970s fashion in the New Zealand Fashion Museum publication The Age of Aquarius: A 70s Revolution in Fashion
