Floral house dress

George Courts department store opened on Karangahape Road in Auckland in 1926, quickly becoming a drawcard for everyday fashion and apparel. George and his brothers had a long history of owning drapers stores in the area, and John Court's department store on Queen Street was also a popular shopping destination. The use of bias binding on this dress indicates that it was designed for casual, at-home wear.
