Cloud 9 dress

The model wears two identical dresses layered over the top of each other. They come from a capsule collection titled Happy Ending, which designer Rawiri Brown developed as part of the Tautai Fale-ship, a home residency project initiated in response to Covid-19 and its impact on artists. The collection makes tongue-in-cheek references to his hometown, Otaki, and its sunny logo and uses hyper-saturated colour and experiments with the shapes and materiality of found objects such as a plastic paddling pool. The finished collection was presented at a private showing in a garden in Grey Lynn, Auckland.
