Bark cloth dress
This Sherri Lee dress is a typical 1950s’ style – gathered skirt, self-covered belt and all-over print. Button-through dresses were also popular. The Sherri Lee label was made by Sew Hoy. The Sew Hoys were early Chinese settlers in Dunedin and they had a large and very successful clothing manufacturing business.
