Wool check cape & scarf
After Colin Cole heard Mary Newman-Pound perform in 1985, he went backstage and said he wanted to make her a cape to take to London. Colin asked her to visit him in his Parnell boutique. "I arrived on my yellow 125 Honda wearing Ministry of Work bright yellow overalls. He took one look at me and threw the caramel coloured cape and scarf he'd made aside, took me to his fabric room and chose a glorious red check for a new full cape and huge collar & scarf." Mary says the cape is always admired, although sadly Auckland is not cold enough for frequent wearings.
