Trappings outfit

This outfit was designed by Doris de Pont and Adrienne Foote for their label DNA. It was shown at the inaugural New Zealand Fashion Week in 2001 at an off-site static display at the DNA showroom in Poynton Tce, off Karangahape Rd. Guests were invited to attend for a viewing and "Cocktails & morsels for the game hunter" with transport provided from the Town Hall, which was the main fashion week venue. The inspiration for the collection was aimed at presenting DNA’s view of New Zealand’s vast landscape and pioneer spirit with the label becoming recognised for its spirited take on New Zealand culture. Trappings followed the iconic summer collection South Pacific Rhapsody that DNA had shown six months earlier at Australian Fashion Week. Alice Rycroft styled this garment for the first New Zealand Fashion Week.
