Trapeze top & miniskirt

DNA was established in the summer of 1994 as a partnership between fabric designer Adrienne Foote and fashion designer Doris de Pont, bringing together fashion-forward garment shapes with unique collaged screen printed fabrics which often combined classical statuary and botanical or other scientific engravings. Initially the fabric designs were screen printed in-house and so was the garment cutting, allowing the prints to be individually positioned on a garment. These pieces are both from the third collection, summer 1995-96 and combine the two major prints of the season, one classical and the other inspired by the sea bringing together fish, shells, seahorses and mermaids. The use of a limited colour palette allows the separate pieces to be combined within a season and across seasons.
