Thornton Hall black velvet knickerbockers & cape, 1982
This cape and knickerbockers, worn with a gold metallic frilled blouse, won the After-Five High Fashion Award in the manufacturer's section at the 1982 Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards. That year, the knickerbocker was the single most important look of the season. Designed by Isabel Harris of Thornton Hall, the outfit is modelled here by Lorraine Downs.
