In 1960 The House of Raymonde won a gold medal at the New Zealand Wool Awards for a full-length black wool evening gown with a "trim of mustard and gold beads". Modelled here by Barbi Worthington, the win gave the Wellington label the right to add a gold medal swing tag to their garments.

This black wool strapless dress has a dramatic skirt that is swept into a voluminous rosette shape with a contrast ruffle edged centre. The strapless bodice has a deep cuff in duchess satin which the winners' notes describe as mustard. The gold beads in the same description are not visible in these images we do however catch a glimpse of a train that is also lined in satin.
