Perspective denim dress

Melanie Child was inspired to make this dress from preloved denim after learning of the volume of pre and post consumer textile waste that goes into landfill each year. "Denim jeans are one of the most mass produced items of clothing and I wanted to reflect this with the multiple panels graduating in hue down the dress." Melanie wanted to demonstrate how much of a resource remains in preloved and discarded clothing, that high end clothing can be made from what many people consider as waste or worthless.
