Mustard yellow two-piece suit
This wool suit is labelled Sylvia's Knitwear. The label Sylvia was made under licence in New Zealand by the Kaiapoi Petone Group Textiles Ltd. In 1963, the Kaiapoi Woollen Company had merged with the Wellington Woollen Company in Petone as both businesses were under financial pressure due to the rising popularity of synthetic materials. Sadly the merger didn't save either business - the Wellington Woollen Company closed in 1968 and the Kaiapoi Woollen Company closed in 1978.
