Morehu Korowai, 2024
This korowai is a taonga representing the talents of our knitters, woven together with whanaungatanga and manaakitanga. It was made Maanawatia a Matariki 2024 by the tauiwi wahine roopu of the Epsom Community Library led by Whaea Deidre Schwaiger. This is a structured progression envisioned project. It evolved through a cooperative process of trust in the craft of knitting, measuring, learning, and sharing korero. Knitting is a korowai for our roopu, a warm embrace that holds us all securely.
