Lime green & navy going away outfit
Wendy Patterson bought this Raymonde coat and shift dress in Dunedin to wear as her 'going away' outfit in February 1969. "I wore the shift frock in the early 1970s, taking up the hem as the mini craze began." The ensemble was designed by the Wellington-based label House of Raymonde. Jacob and Rachel Cohen founded Ray Manufacturing in the 1930s, later changing the name to the more elegant House of Raymonde as the business developed a fashion profile. The Cohens' three sons later joined the business, working in design, manufacturing and retail.
