Girdle with v-shaped panel
Berlei opened in New Zealand in the 1920s, quickly outgrowing their premises in Lorne Street, Auckland. 'Berlei House' - a factory and offices designed by architect Roy Alstan Lippincott opened in Auckland in 1931. The business grew rapidly and this girdle would have been made in one of Berlei's factories - which by 1960 - were located in Auckland CBD, Huntly, Te Aroha, Papatoetoe, Tokoroa and Hamilton.
