Duncan Chambers-Watson
Duncan Chambers-Watson’s 2014 graduation collection was inspired by religious iconography in dystopian fiction. Duncan was selected to study on exchange at IED Moda Lab in Milano during his summer break of 2013-2014 and while in Milan undertook an internship with Carol Christian Poell.
On his return to Dunedin for his final year of study, Duncan was selected to take part in the Shanghai Dunedin Sister City project, culminating in a group show at Shanghai Fashion Week. Duncan was selected to show his 2014 graduation collection on the catwalk at the iD Dunedin Fashion Show in April 2015. Earlier that year, Duncan was part of the New Zealand Fashion Museum exhibition about Dunedin fashion, A Darker Eden.
Duncan worked as a pattern maker at WORLD before he was selected to be part of the hit American television show Project Runway in 2015. He was one of 16 designers to appear in the 14th season of the show, and only the second New Zealander.
