Colin Cole iridescent pink printed silk evening dress, 1969
This dress was made in 1969 by Colin Cole for Lyndy for The Four Schools Ball – a ball for past pupils of Christ’s College, Wanganui Collegiate School, Woodford House and Nga Tawa Diocesan School. At this time, Colin extended his offering to include off-the-peg garments in response to the changing demographic. This garment has a conventional woven label, which he began to use instead of his signature hand sewn labels as production increased.
