Barbie Looking Fab at 50, 2009

In 2009 I turned 50, and so did Barbie. I had numerous Barbie dolls around my home left over from having four daughters. I was inspired to use them to create fashion pieces that they might wear to a party. I was also learning the art of Freeform knitting and crochet so I used this form of work to create a larger Barbie doll piece to enter into The World of Wearable Art competition. My piece was accepted and was paraded on the catwalk for ten days. She ventures out from time to time and always enjoys being on display.
