Afternoon suit with gold stitching
In the early 1930s, Julia Yates decided to move away from millinery and sell firstly high fashion knitwear and then bespoke womenswear in her salon, Trilby Yates. Julia employed a designer, Nancy Hudson, for her workroom which was located on Durham Street West. Nancy (or Huddy as she was known) was the designer at Trilby Yates until the late 1940s when she left to work in Australia.
