Two-piece evening ensemble

Marilyn Sainty made this evening ensemble for Wendy Ganley to wear to a fashion ball in Auckland in about 1973. Wendy wore it with a long, deep pink velour cardigan. Marilyn began her fashion career at Wendy's label, Elle, in the 1960s. After working in Sydney, including a spell as part-owner of Starkers boutique, Marilyn returned to New Zealand. She  took over as designer at Elle for a year, which gave Wendy more time with her children.
