Hand-dyed wool ensemble

In the design for this ensemble, Paul Chaplin drew inspiration from the Jane Campion film, The Piano (1993), especially how European fashion was combined with traditional Māori costume. The fabric was hand-dyed to achieve the right tones between the brown and the beige. This ensemble was the 1994 Woolmark award winner at the Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards.
