Customs officer coat

Kate Morgan joined the Customs Office in Dunedin direct from school in 1978 and remained there for 11 years. She was the first female Career Cadet to be taken on in the southern region. This overcoat, made-to-measure by the Wellington tailoring firm Bookers, which produced Government Issue clothing, formed part of her regulation uniform. The rest of the uniform comprised a jacket, front-pleated skirt, mid-blue shirt and navy-blue V-neck jumper.
