Air New Zealand printed koru uniform

In January 2010 Air New Zealand announced that Trelise Cooper, one of New Zealand’s leading fashion designers, had been engaged to design the next Air New Zealand uniform. The brief include a requirement for the uniform colour palette to work in harmony with the newly unveiled aircraft interiors, reflect contemporary New Zealand themes with a cohesive visual uniformity and provide choice depending on body type and preference. The Trelise Cooper collection has varying levels of formality, providing a formal look for travelling through airports and welcoming customers onboard, and a more casual style for in the air. The colour highlights of twilight pink for cabin crew, godzone green for ground staff and sky blue for ground and inflight managers are supported by black formal items such as suits and coats. Uniforms for inflight concierges, pilots and all other frontline staff are also included. Trelise's selection followed an extensive review of more than 25 New Zealand designers. "It's not just a uniform, it's a total wardrobe that allows all staff to stylishly co-ordinate pieces to create a look that's right for the individual while keeping within the work group and Air New Zealand guidelines," Trelise says.
